In view of the announcement by the Islamic Association of North America (ISNA), Fiqh Council of North America (FCNA), other Masjids and Islamic Centers in Alberta, as well as announcements across most Muslim countries, we are pleased to announce that the month of Shawal will start and the Eid Al’fitr will be celebrated on Friday, March 20, 2026.
Eid prayers will be held at:
Swan City Football Club @ 9:00 am
11319 105 St, Grande Prairie, AB T8V 7P1
Indoor field – next to old Composite High School
Doors open at 8:30 am and prayers will start at 9:00 am. Please be respectful of everyone’s time and be on time.
Please also note that the venue prohibits any food, snacks or drinks on the field. Please avoid distributing any food or snacks and clean up after youself.
Zakat ul Fitr (Fitrana) should be paid before Eid prayer @ $15 per person, for each family member in your household. Donations boxes are available in the masjid and Eid venue for Zakat ul Fitr. You can also contribute by paying by cheque, debit-machine, e-transfer, or through website https://masjedgp.ca/donate/ noting that the donation is for Zakat ul Fitr.
